Your Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score ranks you in the Express Entry pool, out of 1,200 points. It adds four parts: core human capital (age, education, language and Canadian work), spouse factors, skill transferability and additional points such as a provincial nomination. Enter your details below for an estimate based on the grid IRCC uses as of 15 October 2026.

How is the CRS score calculated?
| Part | What counts | Maximum |
|---|---|---|
| Core human capital | Age, education, first and second official language, Canadian work experience | 500 single, 460 with a spouse |
| Spouse or partner factors | Spouse's education, English or French, Canadian work | 40 |
| Skill transferability | Education or foreign work combined with strong language scores or Canadian work | 100 |
| Additional points | Provincial nomination 600, French up to 50, Canadian study up to 30, sibling in Canada 15 | 600 |
The calculator converts your IELTS General Training, CELPIP General or PTE Core scores into Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) levels for each skill, using IRCC's equivalency charts. Only these tests count for English in Express Entry; IELTS Academic and PTE Academic do not.
Which factors raise your CRS score most?
- Language. Moving from CLB 7 to CLB 9 in all four skills adds core points and also unlocks the highest skill transferability points. For IELTS General Training, CLB 9 means 8.0 in listening and 7.0 in reading, writing and speaking.
- Age. Points peak from 20 to 29 and fall each year after 30, reaching zero at 45.
- Education. A master's degree or two credentials including one of three years or more score higher than a single bachelor's degree, once confirmed by an Educational Credential Assessment.
- French. A French test at NCLC 7 or higher in all four skills adds up to 50 points.
- Provincial nomination. Adds 600 points.
What CRS score do you need for an invitation?
There is no fixed pass mark. IRCC invites the highest ranked candidates in each round, and the lowest score invited changes from round to round and by category. Our guide to immigrating to Canada through Express Entry explains the programmes, recent draws and the steps from Pakistan.

Frequently asked questions
What is a good CRS score for Canada PR?
There is no fixed good score. IRCC invites the highest ranked candidates in each draw, and cut offs differ between general and category based rounds, so check the latest rounds of invitations on canada.ca.
Does a job offer still add CRS points?
No. Since 25 March 2025, a job offer adds no CRS points. It can still matter for eligibility in some programmes and provincial streams.
Can I use IELTS Academic for Express Entry?
No. For English, Express Entry accepts IELTS General Training, CELPIP General and PTE Core. IELTS Academic and PTE Academic are not accepted.
How many points does a provincial nomination give?
A provincial nomination through Express Entry adds 600 points, which in practice is usually enough for an invitation in a following round.
Is this calculator the same as IRCC's?
It uses the same points grid as IRCC's rules, checked on 15 October 2026, but it simplifies some questions, such as French scores. Always confirm your score with IRCC's own tool and in your Express Entry profile.
